Happy Trails and Happy Tails.

One of my BF's supervisors retired the other week.  He's a really interesting guy.  Used to work for all sorts of interesting places, like the people that aided the Aftermath Recovery of the initial Recovery of Hurricane Katrina (not gonna go on a tangent right now ya'all)...And, he loves kitties.  He rescued one from Katrina, and is really active in Animal Rescue and treating Furballs right.

I love cats too, but I'm allergic to most of them, and I don't feel like carrying an Epi-Pen with me at all times to figure out which one's I'm not allergic too.

Anyways....Me and the BF wanted to make him something cool.  So we made him a good luck horseshoe (we know he's gonna be traveling), and I made his cat's some toys.  Kitty-Cat TakeOut for Long Trips.  Yeah, I think I'm clever, if I may say so myself.

The Fortune Cookie pattern is from LionBrand, and I used a mix of stash yarns (including Cotton Ease, Yarn Gang, and Wool).  Too make them more appealing, they are stuffed with:

-Catnip, of course.
-Jingle Bells wrapped up together (in the super rare instance they work themselves out).
-Yummy Wool from my Needle Felting Batts.

The sushi Patttern, well, I just winged it.  Spicy California Rolls are my favorite, so I know what they look like.  I just did the traditional Magic Circle, crocheted into the circle, and kept Going.  I made one face of the sushi and then the side, made another face, and stitched them together.  Pretty Cool.

I dropped down at least three hook sizes to make the crochet super tight.  Unless these cat's are bobcats, they ain't getting to that yummy smelling wool or catnip.

I found a Lucky Neko online and them added some text and glued it to the pie pan.  Where I live, your Chinese Takeout Combos come in a Pie Pan.  You only get the nifty Take Out boxes when you order an entree by the Quart....Boo....

These were so much fun to make, I'd like to make a few more of them and see if anyone would be interested in purchasing them.  I'm getting the little take-out pans and Chinese Takeout Boxes in the mail this week, and I'll be posting a few in my Etsy Store.  For right now, if your interested in the Fortune Cookies, I'll put them in a cute little Gift Bag.

Here's a little slideshow of what I did.  Cute, right?
