A White Wednesday Packed in like Snow!

It SNOWED IN VIRGINIA!  It snowed, and that was pretty cool, but what made it cooler is that it snowed a decent amount!  The BF CheapGeek told me to bring the Camera around, so here's my Historic Neighborhood in the Snow:

I'm rather bummed that the battery died on me in the middle of doing stuff, but I'll try to get more video and get better at Video eventually.

So.... The CheapGeek's Mom really digs Antiques and Old Stuff too, and that's always good.  When we go to visit, his parent's house reminds me of a well-decorated Crime and Mystery Library.  The shelves are full of interesting books, and little cute old items that make me smile.  CheapGeek's Momma has quite a few figurines, and an interesting mixture of Asian inspired items too.  She also digs things that remind her of little Kids, the Navy, and her Sons.  That really makes me smile.

While cash ain't exactly something I carry much of during the Holidays, I did have a bunch of Luck in my back pocket this weekend while lurking through the aisles of my local Thrifts!

Check these little guys out!

These Happy Sailors look like their about to do a Salute, and then a little naval jig on deck, lol.

They remind me a little of Big Boy figurines, and while I really couldn't find much on them, I think their just the little Chippy n' Cute gift the CheapGeek's Mom would love.  Their Navy, their old, and it's two little dark haired Boys, which remind me of her sons.

I hope she likes them, and I hope anyone reading this won't show her this blog 'til AFTER THE HOLIDAYS!

I'm just trying to figure out how to ship them to her.  They are awfully fragile, and I just got terrible news today from someone I sold an item to last week.  They got their Priority Mail package, and the items were broken.  I take a bunch of care packaging stuff (I even blog about how I package stuff!), so it's really, really disconcerting that something I shipped got broken.  This is the first time something I sold to someone broke, and now it's got me uneasy on trying to ship these down to Carolina.

I guess I'll just have to take a gamble on it...

Well, the Holidays are fast approaching...
Late 60's release of "A Christmas Carol" Gift Book.
and I'm spending a lot less time blogging, and more time crafting.  I've got some great craft projects going on right now, all at once, and I'm trying to take some decent pix to mix up the posts with some crafty stuff every now and then.

But that's been leaving no time to blog.  But don't despair, I'll be updating more once I start to get some of these projects finished!

Hey! Just wanted to say thanks for stopping by my little blog and leaving a message. U asked how I painted the marshmallows and if I just used a brush. The answer is yes. I used a very fine brush for the thinner lines. But I know they sell edible ink markers to write on cookies and such. I didn't want to spend money so a lil food colouring mixed with milk does the trick. I hope that helps. Oh by the way I love love those little sailors. Oh my !
Have a lovely day. Xoxo
