Random Acts of Blog Kindness, Project Goals, and Vintage Musings

Oh, so, check this little guy out:

Cute little 50's style Vintage Wiener Dog Pin.  He's definitely a bit Traveled and Worn, but I'll be putting him up in my Etsy Shop tomorrow.  Adopt a Vintage Dog, Lol!

I was featured on Someone's Blog!
Check out CaraMagic and help this new blogger get some exposure.  She features collections of amazing Etsy treasures she finds daily, and also has her own Etsy store!

I think it's really cool to gain more exposure out on the intarwebs, so return the very kind favor and give her stuff a look too.  Her Etsy shop features some wonderful handmade Childrens' items, and fabulous Tea Towels!

I've started to wonder if I should craft or not for the Holidays.  Now is the time to think about it, and if I don't start now, then I won't be prepared.  Considering I'm not the fastest crafter, it would be impossible to prepare enough handmade items for a November Craft show, much less an October one.

I have decided that should I craft for the Holidays, I would need to craft specifically for the craft show, and I would not make any more elaborate, or specialty items.  It seems the market for a handmade shawl, or custom set is more profitable online, than an "In Real Life" event, at least for me.  Last year, my primary sales were Ornaments, and Soap/Wash sets....So, maybe just Holiday themeOrnaments, and smaller gifts (mostly Hats), as well as Washclothes bundled with CheapGeek Soap?  This would be a craft show where people expect handmade jewelry and other eccentric gifts, but some of my very unique, One Of A Kind items didn't seem to draw as many people in.  I know it's all about learning the crowd character before an event, so I'm sizing people up now....Research. Yep.

I have become completely enamored with lace, after completing some coasters to compliment two of my Vintage items for sale: my Halloween Mini-Wine Goblets, and my Sunny Side UP colored Coffee Mugs.

These super cute little Sunny Orange Coffee Cups are Vintage Corning ware, and they were featured on the CaraMagic Blog! come with a set of three handmade crochet coasters!  The Etsy listing for these Charming Breakfast cups  and Hand-Crocheted Coaster Trio can be seen HERE.

You have just got to see these Vintage Avon 1876 Cape Cod Goblets.  I was amazed that I already had some lovely cotton to match them!  Currently on Etsy, just in time for the upcoming Spooky Holiday Season.
The Coasters I have made are from a fairly simple Doily Coaster pattern, and I can easily construct a set in one day, while still working on figuring out my Holiday Gala Shawl (Sigh, that's gonna be another tremendous post, when I get the chance to get through that headache).

So maybe, if I just stick to tiny stuff and lace, I could possibly craft enough for the Holidays?  Hrm... I might end up buying presents this year for everyone, instead of crafting them myself...  I think crafting everyone's gift, as well as stuff for a show, would be a bit unreasonable.  But the hardest part of that is explaining it to non-Crafters.
