A moment to breathe, and sip some Coffee... (Knit Night Fun & Drinks)

Oh My, what is this? Coffee? A Gift for Me?
It's been a hectic, headache-filled week.  So it was practically a gift from the sky to have Liz and Deva invite me to Knit Night on Friday.  Lately, my local knitter's have been meeting on Saturdays, and since I work on Saturday, it's rather hard to make it out of the house.

The place we meet at is great, it's called The Java Cup, and they are open rather late for a Coffee Shop in Southeastern VA (everything closes rather early 'round here).  It's a bit of a drive for me, but every part of this little shop reminds me of growing up Eclectic, Eastern, and Shabby.

I ordered myself a Shabby Chic Cremosa!  I used to work as a Barista way back in the day, and Cremosa's were a lovely way to have a small, airy burst of flavor that mellowed out in the drink and on your palate.  Luckily, The Java Cup had a wide array of syrups and flavors.  Feeling quite "Shabby" from a Long day and an even longer week, I got creative.

Yes, I have totally just invented the "Shabby Chic" Cremosa, but I think you'll find it Charming!  Here's the ingredients:

1.  Ice.
2. Club Soda.
3. Half & Half (but I have used Heavy Whipping Cream in the past, and it might work better with these syrups).
4.  Almond Syrup
5. White Chocolate Syrup or Powder
6.  Rose Syrup

Add your ice to 2 chilled Cups.  Using a shot glass fill it to approximately 2/3 full with the following Syrup Proportions 1/2 White Chocolate, 1/4 Almond, 1/4 Rose Syrups.  Since I like my Cremosa's light, I split this shot over two glasses/cups.  Roll the syrup and ice around  in the cups, and then slowly add the Club Soda.  DO NOT stir vigorously, "roll" it gently.  Pour Half & Half over the drink, and wait for it to slowly sink.  Enjoy!

Anyways, all this talking of Recipes and yummies, I wanted to mention my friend Liz!

Yes, check out Liz's awesome T-shirt from CafePress! Also check out my inability to check my camera before taking pictures.

Liz has a great blog about Gluten Free Cookin', and it's picking up some traffic.  Probably because of some very Tasty, and very Wheat-Free Content!  Get it? I made a joke about the blog quality/content and no wheat.  I'm Hilarious.  Seriously, check out her blog sometime, I'm currently encouraging her to post more often, as I'm one of many people that needs healthy food inspiration in my life.

It was really nice to get out of the house....Oddly enough, I never seem to get much done on Craft/Knit/Crochet night, so I'm lame for not taking any decent pictures of what I worked on!

Anyways, I had a busy day today, and sometimes, you just need to get out of the house....Even if you have 1/2-1 GB of photos to edit from a single Busy Friday.  Yep, that's what I'll be doing tomorrow, so I can actually share some of my craft and project photos with you during the rest of the weekend!
