Awfully Tired...

Okay,

So, the supposed Hurricane came and went, and nothing really happened in my area.  Funny, I'm listening to the radio right now and all the local clubs and bars are trying to milk all that money they spent on "Let's keep the Hurricane Away Party" commercials.   For as long as I have been here, it seems like locals always have a party right before serious storms.  I know tribal/ancestral practices include celebrations to ward off Evil Spirits and appease the gods, but I don't think spending 7.00 on a Light Beer and Terrible Band really count.

We didn't go down to Black Mountain, North Carolina this weekend, as we just have so much stuff to do (clean this house since I haven't been feeling well, it's Back to School Weekend, oh, and Rent weekend), so I'm a little bummed.  Luckily, I'm too exhausted to be bummed, we spent all day running errands.  So no really cute pictures today, I'll be sure to share those with you later on this weekend!

Quick Notes for today:

1.  I made my first Crochet related ETSY SALE!!!!

Unfortunately, when I went to go digging through my two Tupperware -anti-Bender Boxes of crochet stuff I have created to sell, the item was missing!  I was so upset!  I quickly sent an apology and offered to either immediately send a refund and my deepest apologies, or send a hat within two business days.  I managed to create a wonderful beanie for this customer in approximately half a business day, put in a deeply apologetic note, and a free gift.  I was very proud of myself for ensuring I create a good customer service experience for the buyer, and even going the extra mile, but I'm still disappointed in myself that the issue had to occur.  I've slowly been creating some new items that I'm saving up for one big gallery and launch of cool handmade stuff for the Holiday season, but that doesn't mean my old inventory should be slipping through the cracks or "disappearing"...  I really hope the customer is happy with my product, and I hope to hear back from them soon.

2.  The Back to School "Weekend before School Starts" sales were terrible in the Mainstream stores.  By Mainstream, I mean popular stores that I will go to (Big Box Discount Designer re-sales stores)...  I think the retail world is giving up on trying to stimulate the economy with decent sales, much less making me happy to find some nice back to work pants.

3.  I had my first candy bar and broke my diet.  Actually, Yesterday, I had some ThrowBack Pepsi which is the most wonderful liquid on the planet.  I found an interesting article on Pepsi's ThrowBack line at Beverage Review.  You should check it out HERE  if you have an questions or curiosity about this magical product!  But  yeah, Candy Bar, and a ThrowBack pepsi.  And I'm sure I'll wake up tomorrow and have gained 5lbs....

4.  I GOT MY YARN TODAY!  I received my *Surprise-Surprise-May-End-Up-Being-My-Holiday-Party-Shawl" Yarn today.  But that will be another post darlings! I'll leave you in suspense, but with one quick fun trick, check out Web's Yarn sales.  They just did their end of the retail year close out sale, but now they are closing out on Cotton, Cashmere Blends, and new Fall lines.

Tomorrow I get to go hang out with my dad, who is awesome, kind, comforting, and overworked.... And I would give up my index finger if it meant he could retire early.  And I need that Index finger, I type for a living, and I'm also a "Thrower" (Knitting term for how I knit...oddly enough, I throw my yarn when I crochet too.  OMG, Realization!)  My dad is a good guy, and he's finally got all us kids out of the house.  I wish he could enjoy that more.  I'll try to buy him lunch tomorrow.  I'll try...

In the mean time, I'm gonna go to bed and wake up early so I can go see him.  Go check out my eBay sales, as I am trying to basically sell off my well treasured Vintage items, and some of the really cool items I have found lately.  I figure if I mix it up, and share the love, it'll be easier to sell off some of my super treasured stuff while selling my awesome Vintage finds,  as I know there are people out there that will treasure it as well!

Current items you might wanna check out:

Didn't sell last time, so I'm dropping the price.  If I don't see any bids on it by Sunday Morning.....Sigh..

Well, Good Night Folks, and keep it up.  The Comments Contest will be ending on the 15th, and so does the Donations Contest!
