Am I a Shabby Chic?

I've always been borderline Tomboy, but over the past few years (especially when I learned to crochet), I've started getting a little fancier and fancier...

My tastes are all over the place, but I still seem to be drawn to delicate things....

Lately, instead of looking at some of the neat retro and vintage items I find, I don't think "would I wear that?" or "Will I smile every time I look in (specific room/area of the house) and see that?"... Nowadays, I think those questions, but also think "Do I know someone who likes that?" or "Is this something people are interested in purchasing?".  And the question is usually "Yes".  Much of the stuff I have found would have a buyer, so, I'm starting to wonder if I should go into the Vintage Business, or at least Flea Market Collector and Shabby Chic collector.  I'm still struggling to find a resource on looking into all this.  There are tons and tons of sites devoted to Flea Market Collecting, Junk Collecting, Shabby Cottage, and Vintage.  And some of the ones that have a wealth of knowledge, about resale, or starting your own collection or shop, well, of course, you have to pay....I wonder if I can pay them in really old stuff...

When I think "Shabby Chic", I think everything painted white with a doily on top of it, lots of wicker, and weathervanes inside the the house.  I also think that my stepmom enjoys correcting me too much, since I have no idea (other than from her) how to say "Shabby Chic".  I've always liked white furniture, distressed home decor, hardwood floors, and random "Mantiques", but I didn't know that was now considered "Shabby", or that "Shabby" has started to absorb some of the "Dork Rock" and Raggamuffin Clothing Fashion.

I've started to pick up some random, cute, victorian and other classicly inspired vintage jewelry.  I plan on polishing some of it up, and seeing if anyone is interested in it.

Really, really needs the flower cleaned, and should probably check the back area where the flower attaches

Looking at my office and living room, you'd think I was a Shabby Chic, though, I don't think I could pull off the poof lace knee level skirts and French clothing fashion too well.  I might be a little too rough around the edges.  Which explains the Vintage Cowboy Boots I picked up the other day....

And absolutely love (I've already worn them for a couple days now!).  You're gonna have to pry these from my cold, dead, Junk Collector hands.

PS: Yep, this post is days late, as I've had a terrible cold....It's weird, it acts up at the weirdest times (cough, congestion), and then goes away, but leaves me with terrible fatigue.  I just want to sleep all the time, which is not good, considering the only time I have to do stuff is during the day, which is when all my readers and friends and family are awake.

It's been a great contest, and I am definitely going to do another one.  I just need to figure out a clever plan for one....
