Twas the Night before Vacation...

Twas the Night before Vacation, And all through the House,
Not a Creature was stirring, not even a Mouse...

'Cept for one lone crafter, frenzied and panicked:

"We'll be gone for 4 days, I don't know what to Travel-Knit/Travel-Craft!!!"

It's always hard for me to go on trips.  Even short day trips or road trips, because I always want to bring something to pass the time.

You don't want to bring something that you'll finish and still have a bunch of down time/boredom during the trip, but you don't want to bring an Estonian Lace Knit Shawl (not that I can knit lace yet), or a crazy 795 initial Chain Filet Crochet pattern...

I've also wanted to branch out an do a few other things for the past week or two, which has resulted in a completely trashed Craft Room/Yarn Studio/Office (I should make all of those a separate room, but alas... Sigh)...

I made some cards last night, and I plan on sending them from various places on my way down to Black Mountain.

My step-mom says that my cards are really good.  Maybe I can send her one along the way.

I started the Simple Knitted Bodice by Stitch Diva Studios (Stefanie Japel) and it's coming along, slowly.  So slowly.  I'm a terribly slow knitting sometimes, especially with Stockinette stitch.  But at least the pattern isn't so difficult that when I'm on a trip, I don't throw it down in frustration and stare out the window (fall asleep).

I still haven't figured out if I want to add beads to it.  I did a swatch and figured out how to do beads, but everytime I wear something with beads, the beads get tangled on me or my hair in some horrific manner.

I'm bringing the cards to send, and the Simple Knitted Bodice, and maybe one more ball of yarn, maybe...Just in case I wanna make a bag or something...That should keep me occupied.  Hopefully.

Now to pack clothes.  Ugh.
